概要
What happens when elements of a novel and a comic book come together, transforming into an interactive experience? With the rise of Original English Language Visual Novels (OELVNs), such as the psychological horror hit Slay the Princess, visual novels have carved out a distinct space in interactive fiction.
This workshop introduces participants to the art of writing for visual novels, using the Ren’Py Visual Novel Engine (open-source, free to use). Attendees will learn how to bring their stories to life visually and structurally, craft meaningful choices, and explore branching narratives that deepen player agency and replayability.
Participants are required to bring their own fully-charged laptops (Windows/Mac) for this workshop. For those without laptops, the facilitator will have limited laptops on loan.
Conducted by: Lyana Shah Bte Shahrir
Facilitated by: Ashraf Azhar, Ian Goh Hsien Jun and Zec Chua
This programme is recommended for ages 13 and above.
