About Cherita Hauntu: Quwwa
Following the sold-out successes of Cherita Hantu (2021), Cherita Hantu: Kembali (2023), Cherita Hantu: Horror Reimagined (2024), and Cherita Hantu: Kafirun (2025), Arts House Group once again collaborates with Hafidz Rahman to present the fifth — and biggest — outing of the series at The Arts House, Cherita Hantu: Quwwa.
“Quwwa” means power in Arabic, and the work draws directly from the theme of Light to Night Singapore 2026, The Power in Us. Departing from earlier editions, Quwwa deepens its storytelling approach by presenting three longer multi-sensorial stories in place of five shorter vignettes, offering audiences greater immersion, layered narratives, and heightened theatricality.
Directed and written by Hafidz Rahman (host of Berhantu and Screamapura), the production introduces an expanded creative team to enhance set design, scares, and experiential prompts. It also features an exciting new line-up of performers from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, bringing fresh perspectives and authenticity to the series’ closing chapter at The Arts House.

Cast and Crew
Menara:
Inspired by true accounts from Jakarta’s infamous abandoned Menara Saidah. Security guards report a lady in red wandering the elevators, GrabFood riders deliver to empty offices, and film crews are tormented by falling cameras and whispers. Each floor hides a secret, each room a horror — a building that seems alive, watching, and feeding on those who enter.
Mak:
Two siblings bury their mother, only to find their grief entangled with property disputes and faraid. The elder brother spirals into depression as strange occurrences escalate whispers, sightings, and failing health. It soon becomes clear that their late mother may have left them with more than just her Joo Chiat flat.
Mu’tah:
Three students from different countries share a dorm at Mu’tah University in Jordan. Far from home, they bond deeply until inexplicable events unfold. As friendships fray, one truth emerges: not everyone is who they seem. By the time the deception is revealed, it is already too late.
