Synopsis
Join us in an evening of festive wonder and joy with VENTUS’s inaugural show, Sinfonica — and its first edition, Voce! Featuring the colour and character of the human voice, this programme brings the ensemble together with Schola Cantorum Singapore. Under the baton of Adrian Chiang, the night will weave wind, brass, percussion, and voice into a rich tapestry of sounds and stories.
Respighi’s Feste Romane (Roman Festivals) paints a grand portrait of Rome in celebration — from ancient fanfares echoing through the Colosseum, to the bright revelry of modern festivities 🎊.
Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, drawn from his opera Prince Igor, pulses with energy and lyricism — music that conjures the movement and spirit of the Polovtsians, nomadic Turkic people whose songs echoed across the steppes of Central Asia and Eastern Europe around the 11th to 13th centuries 💃🏻🌾.
Whitacre’s Godzilla Eats Las Vegas! takes a gleeful turn, transforming the concert hall into a movie scene — a tongue-in-cheek adventure of monsters, showgirls, and marching bands gone rogue!
Each work paints its own story — vivid and full of wonder — a perfect prelude to the season’s festive spirit. As the year draws to a close, join us to listen, laugh, and share in music that moves, enchants, and unites.
